IUD Placement

Intrauterine device (IUD) placement is a non-surgical procedure where a small, T-shaped device is inserted into the uterus to prevent pregnancy. The process takes only a few minutes and can be performed in a healthcare provider's office. IUDs are highly effective, long-lasting, and reversible contraceptive options that can provide protection for several years.

Pessary Fittings/Cleaning

Pessaries are medical devices inserted into the vagina to support pelvic organs and manage conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse or urinary incontinence. Fitting involves selecting the appropriate size and type of pessary for the patient's needs. Regular cleaning and maintenance of the pessary are essential to prevent infections and ensure its effectiveness.

Diaphragm Fittings

A diaphragm is a silicone cup-shaped barrier method of contraception that covers the cervix to prevent sperm from entering the uterus. Fitting a diaphragm involves determining the correct size and type for the patient's anatomy. Proper fitting is crucial for ensuring the effectiveness of the diaphragm in preventing pregnancy.

Endometrial Biopsy

An endometrial biopsy is a procedure that involves removing a small sample of tissue from the lining of the uterus (endometrium) for examination. This procedure is used to diagnose various conditions, such as abnormal uterine bleeding, endometrial cancer, or infertility. The biopsy is typically performed in a healthcare provider's office and causes minimal discomfort.

Colposcopy

A colposcopy is a diagnostic procedure that closely examines the cervix, vagina, and vulva for signs of disease. It is often performed when a Pap smear indicates abnormal cell changes. During the procedure, a special magnifying instrument called a colposcope is used to visualize the area and guide biopsy if needed.

Sonohystogram

A sonohystogram, also known as a saline infusion sonogram, is an ultrasound procedure that evaluates the uterine cavity. Sterile saline is injected into the uterus through a catheter, allowing for better visualization of the endometrial lining. This procedure helps diagnose abnormalities such as polyps, fibroids, or adhesions, and assesses fertility issues.

Nexplanon

Nexplanon is a long-acting, reversible contraceptive implant that is inserted under the skin of the upper arm. The small, flexible rod releases progestin hormone to prevent pregnancy for up to three years. Insertion is a quick, in-office procedure performed under local anesthesia, and the implant can be removed at any time.

Ultrasound Evaluation

Ultrasound evaluation uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of internal organs and structures. In gynecology, ultrasound is used to assess the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes for abnormalities or to monitor pregnancy. Ultrasound can be performed abdominally or transvaginally, depending on the purpose of the examination.

Novasure (Uterine Ablation)

Novasure is a minimally invasive procedure for treating heavy menstrual bleeding. It uses radiofrequency energy to ablate (remove) the endometrial lining of the uterus, reducing or eliminating menstrual flow. The procedure is typically performed in an outpatient setting under local or general anesthesia and offers a faster recovery compared to traditional surgical options.

Minerva (Uterine Ablation)

Minerva is another minimally invasive procedure for treating heavy menstrual bleeding. It uses a combination of heat and plasma energy to ablate the endometrial lining of the uterus. The procedure is performed in an outpatient setting and requires no incisions, offering a quick recovery time and effective relief from heavy periods.

Truclear and Myosure

Truclear and Myosure are minimally invasive, hysteroscopic procedures used to remove intrauterine pathology such as polyps or fibroids. These procedures involve inserting a small, lighted instrument called a hysteroscope through the cervix and into the uterus. Specialized tools are then used to resect or remove the abnormal tissue, providing diagnostic and therapeutic benefits.
